Recovering Our Families is an innovative online support program designed to support the recovery of mental health challenges. The program is specifically designed to aid families struggling with emotional pain, whether that is a result of psychiatric diagnosis, undiagnosed extreme emotional distress, or addiction issues.
Recovering Our Families provides coping skills and tools to aid participants through their challenges.
“This course builds families confidence in playing an active part in a family member’s recovery process. It introduces the importance of love and hope and challenges the myths, stigma and existing traditional approaches to mental illness giving hope to families that, despite how bad or how long they’ve been impacted by family mental health issues, recovery is possible“
– 47 year old professional woman, wife & mother – Perth, Western Australia.
“The program helped me to move from survival mode to a new ‘normal’.
During my crisis, I had put all my energy into surviving that period and that had been the right thing to do but I had lost my own balance and I was being less effective in supporting and caring.
My own extreme stress had led me to a state of significant anxiety, and I was feeling helpless and losing hope.
Recovering Our Families provided me with hope for a life beyond the crisis. Helped me to be better at looking after myself and to be a better support. It significantly improved our communication. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
– 52 year old Husband – Bondi, NSW Australia.
Classes are currently offered every second month beginning on the 15th of the month.
