Understanding available help for Mental Health is a very important aspect of treating mental health challenges, as well as safeguarding the mental health of those around you.
At HelpingMinds, we provide help to mental health patients by connecting them to the NDIS for proper support planning and then our experienced staff will assist in fulfilling these recovery goals. We provide help to mental health carers and family and friends of people living with mental health patients through a variety of programs and activities that can rejuvenate themselves and safeguard their mental health.
If you know someone living with severe and longstanding mental health issues which have a significant impact on their daily life, they may be eligible for assistance through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
If they live in the Perth Metro area, we may be able to assist patients with specialised psychosocial (mental health) support through their NDIS plan. Find out more about the NDIS and how we can help.
If you know of young people who have emotional difficulties or are at risk of developing a mental health challenge, our early intervention services are available for individuals ages 18 years and below in the City of Swan, Midwest, Gascoyne, Pilbara and Kimberley. Our programs for young people include private and confidential counselling, practical support and other workshops.
All our services aim to help educate the community about mental health and reduce the stigma associated with mental challenges so that we can be more observant of the mental health condition of the people around us and get the patients the help they need as soon as possible.
If you need help or are in a mental health crisis, please contact the following 24/7 helplines:
Mental Health Emergency Response Line
Lifeline – Crisis support and suicide prevention
Kids Helpline – phone counselling service for young people
You don’t have to live with the person or be their main support to be a mental health carer. People of all ages can be carers, including children; and this can take a toll not only on your body but on your mental health as well. Australia has over 240,00 unpaid mental health carers that need to be taken care of, especially when they too are feeling isolated and overwhelmed with their everyday experiences.
HelpingMinds® acknowledges these challenges and is here to help support the Carers. We provide support to mental health carers or to people caring for a loved one going through mental health challenges through various free and confidential services, including programs and activities in Western Australia. We deliver a range of workshops, facilitated by qualified counsellors, to support the mental well-being of young people, adolescents, and adults who are caring for a loved one experiencing mental health challenges. Some of our programs include:
HelpingMinds® has lots of mental health workshops and events on offer all across Western Australia – see what’s available!
