Introducing the NDIS Access Project
The Mental Health Commission (The Commission) has secured funding from the State Government to aid individuals dealing with mental health concerns in their pursuit of NDIS access.
Our project aims to offer comprehensive support throughout the NDIS application and planning phases for eligible individuals. We’re committed to this endeavor until April 14, 2024.
Applicants are expected to meet the following criteria
- Aged between 18 and 65
- Diagnosed with a mental health condition
- Have undergone various mental health treatments in the past
- Require assistance to access NDIS for support
Once you meet the above criteria, we’ll schedule a meeting to initiate the NDIS access request on your behalf. With your consent, we’ll also engage with your healthcare provider and mental health case manager to compile the necessary information regarding your mental health, treatments, and their impact on your life. This information is vital for determining your eligibility for NDIS.
What our team can do
- Help you gather the required supporting evidence and complete the Access Request form
- Establish communication with healthcare services, general practitioners, or private psychiatrists
- Serve as a point of contact for your NDIS queries, as per your preference
- Compile any additional evidence as needed by the NDIS, ensuring a swift completion of the access process
- Follow up with the NDIS to track the status of your application
- Provide assistance in understanding NDIS decisions and guide you in seeking a review or appealing the decision, if necessary.
