The NDIS, or National Disability Insurance Scheme, is the Government’s way of providing a range of support to Australian citizens and residents under the age of 65 who have a disability. If you are eligible for the NDIS you will receive an individualised plan funded through the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).
How does the NDIS support my Mental Health?
Psychosocial disability is a term used to describe a disability that may arise from a mental health challenge. Not everyone who has a mental health condition will have a psychosocial disability, but for people who do, it can be severe, longstanding and impact on their recovery. People with a disability as a result of their mental health condition may qualify for the NDIS.
If you are eligible, the NDIS will fund services and supports you require to live the life you want and deserve. Click here to find out more.
