Growing up around mental illness can have a big impact on young people. It can be confusing, scary and frustrating when a family member lives with mental-ill health. To help young people understand what’s going on around them and how best to cope with the challenges, HelpingMinds offers a variety of free support that is fun, informative and empowering.

The majority of mental health challenges will emerge before the age of 25. The earlier that young people at risk receive support the more likely they are to cope with challenging situations and emotions.
It is easy for young people to be overwhelmed by their emotions if they have no one to talk to, if they feel mis-understood or if they have no one around them that they trust. The ‘right’ support will provide them with tools and techniques to develop resilience and mental and emotional strength, and will steer them away from negative habits and behaviours.
Who we help: Young people between 0-18 years who have emotional or social difficulties or are at risk of developing a mental health challenge, living in City of Swan, Geraldton, Carnarvon, Broome.
We offer free and confidential counselling and support to young people who experience emotional or social difficulties and are at risk of developing a mental health concern.
