Robinsons Kid’s Story
The Robinsons Kid’s story talk about how mental health issues affected their whole family
“I think the hardest thing was when Mum kept on staying in bed and when we got home from school we would have to run around and get stuff for her. I would get the other two up for school and make sure we all got ready. Made lunches, Mum did the school run. And then after school we come home and I would make sure homework got done, get afternoon tea ready, and then get dinner ready, do my homework, cook dinner.
I found that year or so a bit hard, because I didn’t have any friends or anybody to rely on because that was when Dad was still working.
But then once we got used to it kinda was like normal like an everyday and now it’s just normal. I think HelpingMinds® means to care for people and to care for people that have mental Illness. She [Candice] is really nice, she is fun. She’s fun she is always bright, happy and if we are feeling sad she is always there for us.”
